- Installation of the air blower, air supply tube
The BioPro. WWTP must be installed in accordance with local authority construction practices as well as our own construction guidelines. An engineer is responsible for the calculations present in the preparation of the technical documents and work projects.
1 Location Selection:
1.1 When at all possible site the WWTP to take advantage of gravity flow to both the inlet and the outlet. IMPORTANT! The treatment unit cannot be installed under a road. Do not install the device in the lowest part of the site where rainwater or groundwater accumulates.
2.1.2 The lid of the WWTP must be accessible for routine inspection.
2 Preparation for Installation
2.1. The wastewater pipe must be laid out with a continuous slope that is required for the flow of wastewater. See EPA standards.
2.2. The diameter of the wastewater pipe must match the diameter of the mounting socket in the device.
2.3. The excavation space must be at least 1.5 meters bigger than the treatment unit itself. The installation site must be cleared of litter. Also, the vegetation (trees) must be taken into consideration: there should be no tree roots in the installation site that could disturb or interfere with the installation process and the later use of the device.
3.1. Holes for the units are dug in two stages:
3.1.1 An initial hole is dug with an excavator but not fully dug down to the projected depth.
3.1.2 During the second stage, a layer of 20-30 cm is dug by hand. This ensures that the device is installed on undisturbed soil.
3.1.3 IMPORTANT! Pit depth depends on the depth of the wastewater pipe at the installation location. The pit must have a funnel shape: the diameter of the pit must be at least 1.5 m wider than the diameter of the device at the top and 0.5 m wider than the diameter of the device at the bottom.
3.1.4 All plant must be installed on a concrete surface to ensure the device is in proper position by the horizontal and vertical angles. A concrete layer of 15-20 cm with standard reinforcing mesh or a reinforced concrete precast biscuit of required diameter is used on compacted soil.
3.2 Ensure that the finished concrete base is of suitable material and lays level in all directions. This is fundamental to the operation of the plant.
3.3 The reactor can be recessed fully or partially (depending on groundwater levels). IMPORTANT! Ensure the treatment plant is installed above groundwater levels.
3.4 IMPORTANT! If the groundwater levels are high where the unit is to be fitted, the treatment plant can be recessed partially: up to a certain level while the remaining part is poured-over with a mix of sand and gravel (3-8 mm). If this is the case, a wastewater pumping station for rising wastewater is installed before the WWTP. IMPORTANT! There must be a layer of 0.30 m undisturbed soil left above the groundwater level.
3.5 The reactor is carefully placed in the pit using a standard crane, large plant or carefully sited by hand.
2.3.6 In-out pipes are connected (they must be placed on a solid surface and not move) after placing the device in the pit and having checked the projected placement of the device (depth, horizontality and verticality). The device pipes are connected. It is NECESSARY that the socket radius of the device fit the radius of the pipes for wastewater access and cleaned water drainage. The wastewater pipe depth must be the same as the depth of the device socket.
3.7 After being placed in the excavated location the device is gradually filled with water. The gap between the pit and the device is filled with layers of sand or gravel (10mm max). Both the water into the device and the fill around the device is gradually poured in 20-30 cm layers. Layers must be thoroughly compacted. Water must be poured into the device up to the level of the exit pipe.
3.8 Units should sit 0.10 m from the top of the device. The soil level around the device should fall away from the device in a way that the rainwater would not collect around the device and could run off.
4 Installation of the Air Compressor and Tube
4.1 Site the blower container next to the WWTP. The inside of the blower container should be protected from moisture, rain and dust. To ensure a minimum loss of air pressure there should be no corners in the air supply line and the distance from the air blower should not exceed 5m.
4.2 When installing the air blower outside, the box cannot be placed in a spot where water would accumulate. A 220V – 4 Sq cable is laid up to the box.
